Marie Garrison

Certified in Emergency Nursing since 1993.  My practice as a staff nurse includes numerous diverse settings.  In education most recently as an Associate Director for the College of Nursing Co-Op program and roles as clinical faculty.  I collaborate with agencies and clinical units to identify quality experiences, resolve issues or problems during the experience.  My experience is also inclusive of roles in quality management and risk management.  I have published articles and lectured on issues related to emergency care and emergency preparedness.  As a member of a statewide team for the Ohio Emergency Nurses Association developed educational programming in collaboration with Ohio College of Emergency Physicians.

Kevin Langkiet

Kevin Langkiet PhD, MSN, RN

Education Committee Chair

Dr. Kevin Langkiet is the Director for Cardiovascular and Critical Care Services at Mercy Health Anderson Hospital in Anderson, Ohio. He received an MSN in Informatics and a PhD in Nursing. He has 44 years of experience in the healthcare setting, with the last 25 years practicing in various leadership roles in critical care and emergency services.

Kevin is a dynamic nursing leader with proven expertise in reducing turnover, establishing successful mentoring programs, and transforming unit staffing models that promote retention. He is a champion of professional governance and evidence-based practices, leading and implementing major research projects within the acute care setting and developing techniques for enhancing operational efficiency and patient care standards.

Kevin is the recipient of several Exceptional Nurse Leader and Nurse Innovator awards. He holds multiple active leadership roles in several national, state, and local professional organizations, including the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, the American Nurses Association, the Emergency Nurses Association, and the American Organization of Nurse Leaders.

President

Mary Ahlers, MEd, BSN, ACP, NRP, CFC, FESI-II, founder of Paramedic Health Solutions, and the Paramedic Network, authored the National Curriculum and Career Pathway for Community Paramedicine©, launched the Global Paramedic Higher Education Council offering curriculum standards and accreditation for both Community Paramedicine and Critical Care Transport, and the Global Paramedic Academia Consortium for Higher Education for international curriculum development and peer review, leading the advancement of the paramedic profession globally.

Mary serves as Clinical Coordinator for the University of Cincinnati Medical Center Air Care & Mobile Care in Cincinnati, Ohio, AACN President and OONL President for the Greater Cincinnati Chapters, Professor and Advisory Board for Hennepin Technical College, International Journal of Paramedicine (IJOP) Editorial Advisory Board, The Paramedic Foundation Advisory Board, and Board Member for the Association for Critical Care Transport (ACCT) and the Keneya Ni Kakan Institute.
