Medical Marijuana: Implications for Nurses in Ohio

This presentation explores the implications of medical marijuana legalization for nurses in Ohio, focusing on Category A Nursing Law. It covers legal responsibilities, patient care considerations, and best practices to ensure compliance and support safe, effective nursing practices in the evolving legal landscape.

To meet Category A nursing law requirements in Ohio, a nurse must complete at least one contact hour of continuing education (CE) directly related to the Ohio Nurse Practice Act and its rules, approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing (OBN) or an OBN-approved provider. This is a mandatory part of the total 24 CE hours required for renewal and covers topics like standards of practice, delegation, patient rights, confidentiality, and scope of practice. This presentation meets the Category A requirement
