Lactation Registered Nurse- PRN, Nights

Status: PRN

Shift: Third

Job Summary:

The lactation consultant is a member of the Mother-Baby team who provides consultation and hands on assistance for mothers experiencing difficulties related to breast feeding initiation/sustainment in both the inpatient and outpatient setting (prenatally and beyond discharge from the hospital.) The lactation consultant is responsible for initiating a plan of care to provide consistent and evidence-based practice interventions. The lactation consultant provides staff training in lactation support and gives direction by mentoring to nursing and allied health staff at the bedside.

Requirements:

Associate's degree in nursing.

Active Kentucky License.

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required.

Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC)/Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS) required.

International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) within 1 year.
